Elkhead State Park in the beautiful Yampa Valley of Northwest Colorado is an oasis in the high desert.<br />
This 900 acre reservoir provides endless recreational opportunities. They include, but are not limited to, boating, swimming, jet skiing, skiing, picnicking, wildlife watching, hiking, camping, meeting friends and neighbors, bird watching, biking, horseback riding hunting and fishing and many photo opportunities.<br />
Hike along one of a variety of trails that follow the lakeshore. Although many are short hikes, they can be very rewarding to the conscious viewer.
From Craig, go seven miles east on Highway #40 turn left onto County Road #29. Signs will direct you to Elkhead Reservoir, approximately 3 miles.
